Warrior Skull Game

Matt Danowski just sent us Warrior’s answer to the clear Pro 7.

Warrior Trojan Chromed Out with their new helmet stripe

New Lil Wayne “On Fire”

Surprisingly, this song is about Danowski’s helmet.

Notes

Everyone hitting the panic button right now needs to relax. Just because you’d make a trade in NHL10, that doesn’t mean it’s the right thing to do in real life. Ray Shero is paid to be a general manager of an NHL franchise. He put together last year’s Stanley Cup Champions. He just might know what he’s doing here. (via Pensblog)

Kanye’s Storytellers now on sale, unbelievable performance

Hockey companies have been trying the clear for years and have failed miserably. The only people who wore them shouldn't have been on the ice in the first place. What makes you think that this will actually look good on the field and a team would actually use this in a regular season game? I'm having one of your Mugatu-esque moments when people actually think this helmet looks halfway decent. To me, this is the antithesis of everything you have defined as 'flow' and will be a very gimmicky, short-lived trend. Getting the lettuce trimmed seems to have tainted your judgment. Just because you put two white stripes on a toilet treasure does not make it anything other than a piece of shit. Gross.
  • First of all, fantastic user name.

Second of all, this is just a fun helmet. You might see it in the summer ball ranks but
    not in the NCAA.

So when does Cascade start getting the first royalty checks?
  • What are your thoughts on this statement from 90% of Lax

"football helmets look the same, so why cant lacrosse helmets do the same?"
  • KY Gent
Well, for starters, there is what I would call, for lack of a better way to put it, accepted way football helmets are "supposed" to look. I don't think the same is necessarily true for lacrosse yet, though the CPX might have done it. However, football helmet companies still attempt to innovate, be it in terms of protection and/or comfort - take, for example, the space-age looking Riddell helmets.

It just doesn't sit well with me that Warrior is blatantly ripping off Cascade's design, especially when it's 5 years late and after more protective helmets have been on the market.

Still think the chrome CPX looks better... But I guess NB outbid Cascade on the chrome stuff that smitty is doing...
  • LaxDogger102
    that is fuckin sick!
  • Side note: we helped design the helmet sticker

I don't like the Warrior logo above the visor and on the chin guard. It pretty cool without those, I just think Cascade is a much more preferred brand in the helmet market, the logo is differentiating the helmet in a bad way. Its like kia amanti trying to look just like the jaguar xj, from a distance they both look good but when you see the brand one clearly outclasses the other.

Cascade has had a stranglehold on the helmet market for awhile now. Once people see and try on the Trojan and then find out the price is much less they'll begin to take notice. Money talks.
  • Money talks indeed when we were ordering our team helmets I was shocked at
    the price.

But is the price a deterrent when it comes to head safety?
  • thedude1027
Im not convinced the Pro7, CPX, etc are any safer than the Trojan, XP or Riddell. To be fair the Pro7 is the most comfortable in my opinion
