UMD vs. BC
Interesting match up, I agree with Boston College’s seeding. No wins over tournament teams. Loses to Colorado and Colorado State, but with an automatic bid subsequently deserves a lower seed.
Duluth is ranked too high especially when you consider they are above undefeated Simon Fraser. Wins over Colorado State, Sonoma State, and Oregon, three teams that don’t belong in the tournament to do not impress. Losses to Cal Poly, BYU, and Michigan hurt slightly because they were capable of beating at least Cal Poly.
Anyway, this is probably the most exciting match up because it puts player of the year candidates against each other.
#4 Casey Mithun – Attack - Minnesota-Duluth – (UMLL Champs, 12-3, 35g, 50a)
Adept equally at the dish or the finish, Casey continues to rack up points despite drawing the teams best defenseman.
#13 Rob Ventura – Goalie - Boston College – (PCLL Champs, 11-2, 171 saves, .679 save %)
The backbone of one of the stingiest defenses in the MCLA, Rob has the combination of leadership and catlike reflexes that make him one of the best goaltenders in the nation.
Someone will have to beat the other for the team to win. To continue the boring sports cliches used in this press release, its the immovable object versus the unstoppable force.
If collegelax.us isn’t covering this game, I will likely be doing so.

BC's white gloves for no reason don't help
This could be a mini upset alert had the Eagles been on fire entering the tournament except they ended the season with a 9-8 over an average Northeastern team. Nothing average about Duluth’s offense.
Too much Duluth offense.
