Quick Stats

Age:14
Grade:9
Position:Middie/Attack
High School: Trinity Prep (Winter Park, Florida)
Club teams: Elite Orlando Possums, Team Florida, Possums United

412: When did you first start playing lacrosse?

I first started playing lacrosse after I didn’t make the baseball team spring of 6th grade.

412: What kind of stick do you use?

I switch around a bit, but right now I’m using a Krypto Lyte with a Proton Power. Also, I use a Dolomite Diamond with a Brine Gospel, and I am going to be getting a Reebok 9k for free so I’ll see how I like that.

412: How’s your flow game?

If by flow you mean hair, its very good. If you mean like transition stuff its pretty good too.

412: When you go to tournaments out of state like the Gait Cup, what do you notice most about teams from the traditional lacrosse areas?

I notice that they are very fast, move the ball a lot, and also they all dodge the allies as opposed to the middle. I’ve started picking these things up.

412: What is it going to take for Florida lacrosse to catch up to the traditional hotbeds?

Some areas and teams around here are just as good as most hot bed areas. We’ve got Saint Andrews, Lake Brantley and Lake Highland. They can hold their own against most of the teams up north, especially Saint Andrews. They finished 22nd in the nation last spring. But we just need to get more people into it, I think its growing though. It’ll be up there within 5 years.

412: What are personal goals for the spring?

I need to get faster and improve my shooting on the run.

-2

412: What are your team goals for Trinity Prep this spring?

We want to finish better than .500 for the season. We lost all of our seniors which was over half of the team so we are short a few guys. I think we’ll be ok though. We’ll have lots of freshman playing varsity including myself.

Thanks to Bear for the interview. What a great name. Good luck this spring.

Next week we’ll have a full slate of interviews.

I love the Headstrong Foundation, but those are clown shoes.

I wouldn’t eat at Alex Smith’s burger place either

rabilshotelannap

Sick hotel in Annapolis for the USA team to stay at, but I guess they ran out of money to buy the team proper undershirts.

Pitt vs. Slippery Rock 7:30 PM

Our third scrimmage in as many weeks. This week’s practice was the best one of the fall in terms of ball movement and finding the back of the night.

The loose scouting report on Slippery Rock is their attack runs the offense and the defense is in love with yellow laundry.

There was plenty of nervous energy around practice this week when we heard that SRU roughed up Grove City on Friday. Certainly if you have a competitive ounce in your body you want to win every time, but its fall ball and no result counts. The work we accomplish in 6 v 6 or on man down is more important than beating an MCAL 2 team or an NCLL team. No one remembers fall ball scores.

Make sure to check back tomorrow for video coverage. Also we will release Pitt’s mock up gloves from Brine.

Not a Good Idea

Fast forward to 0:30 for the ugly

i have been born and raised an ND fan, i can say i honestly thought we would be at the top when we got weis, but after the past few years, no matter what personnel we have, well, he needs to go. go back to the NFL. i certainly dont want weis as the coach anymore. i really dont. i just want golden tate to run circles around ppl. and someone that can call sufficient plays throughout the whole game. and if we dont get rid of weis, get rid of his son off the sidelines and get rid of the kids headset, he doesnt deserve to be on the sideliens listening to whats goin on.
  • Name
Anyone know what under armour cleats those are? Look good except for the colour scheme, but can't seem to actually find them on the UA website or anything.
  • They are Rabil's signature shoe, might not be out until spring
  • 1) I have no idea what the title of this post meant.

    2) It relates to nothing in the actual post except for the picture which is of course a member of USC's band, who wore a coyote/wolf pelt to stay warm.

    3) Look at how long the grass is, give me a break.
  • jumbojack
I'm not an ND fan at all, but they need to get rid of Clausen and Weiss. One makes their school look bad and the other makes their football team bad. Is it just me or does Clausen and Weiss sound like a swiss watch company?
  • laxoutloud
how can one of the top 5 QBs in the country and a future first round draft pick make any team look bad? Clausen? It would make absolutely no sense to get rid of him. Tate is the BEST QB/WR combo in the NCAA. But Weiss needs to go
  • Therein lies the problem. Clausen and Tate aren't at ND without Weis.
  • laxoutloud
If Clausen beat USC he would be a front runner for the Heisman. Hed also have a real chance if Weis wasnt there, Charlie just doesnt win big games.
  • laxdogger71
they would have won if someone OTHER than weis had made better play calls with 4 seconds to go.
  • Belichick and Tom Brady win big games.
  • I used to love Notre Dame Football, but then Jimmy Clausen had to come in and ruin it.
  • Notre Dame football fell off for me when a few years ago when a drunk 45+ year old man tried to fight me in the tailgate of the Notre Dame Pitt game.

I swear on the success of this blog, I didn't say anything to provoke him. He decided he was going to come to Pittsburgh and try to instigate a fight with a college kid. Cool man.

That's why I don't like Notre Dame football.

The players buy in to what the coaches sell because if the coaches aren't selling what the fan base wants the coach doesn't have a job.

Notre Dame football isn't the problem their fans are the problem.

The sense of entitlement is disgusting, it's like if swine flu and SARs had a baby.

See also, Boston Red Sox fans, Johns Hopkins lacrosse fans.
  • laxdogger71
i apologize on behalf of those retards. and i can promise you i am not one of them. so again, i'm sorry.
  • So you liked them when they sucked? I saw him in person at the USC game last weekend and while he's universally unlikeable, he's a stud QB with a laser-rocket arm.

ND's cornerbacks are another story however...
  • To say the least, YES. I prefer a crappy ND over a Clausenified ND.
  • james
jimmy clausen is an absolute stud. he and case keenum should be the front unners for the heisman trophy. unfortunately espn refuses to get off the tebow bandwagon.
  • laxdogger71
if thats what you think of jimmy c....that hurts :'(
  • Pete Nelson
I mainly have just a pure hatred of the Gopher hockey team but I guess any Gopher sports team can fall into that category....just garbage
  • laxdogger71
agreed...although Phil Kessel is one of my favorite hockey players. i agree completely.
  • Great leadership by Mike Richards, that's what Philadelphia is all about http://www.philly.com/philly/blogs/inqflyersrep...
