Scrimmage Day
Fall ball junk from Saturday. Our first game footage of the season. Upgrading cameras for the spring. FACT
BYU beat the pants off…Simon Fraser today. Disappointing result. 17-9.

St. Andrews (FL) fall ball gear. You can get away with those when your the state champs.
SCRIMMAGE RESULTS:
We played 3 quarters against Johnstown. The field had been double booked and the girls team was kind enough to let us play 3 quarters before storming the field and starting their scrimmage against Slippery Rock.
Their coach said 3 recruits came to watch but ended up leaving. Cry me a river. It’s not our fault the scheduler said the field was available. And there’s a better way to handle the problem than just sending your team onto the field during our scrimmage.
Never a dull moment. We are moving more and more away to scheduling our practices and spring games off campus.
Thanks to Johnstown for understanding.
Unlike the Grove City scrimmage, we decided to get off to a hot start ripping off five goals in the first quarter. Unfortunately we didn’t score in the 2nd quarter no thanks to me missing two open nets from about 35+ yards out. Our coach said the attack didn’t ride particularly well today. I bet if I scored those goals he would have said different.
We had lead after the third quarter when the girl’s team head coach decided they needed the field.
It’s tough to gauge where we were as an offense or defense against a less talented team but it’s always a a good thing to get the entire roster playing time and experience.
I tallied two goals and two assists. Could have/should have had 12+ points. Try to put that together on Friday against Slippery Rock.
I haven’t scored a right handed goal yet this fall. Is this real life?
A woman was standing behind the goal off in the corner of the field. A Pitt Johnstown player blasted her in the head with a shot. Have to pay attention.
Time for a haircut?
Question of the weekend:
The other day a friend of mine was discussing what stood out the most to him when he thought about Joe Walters and Paul Rabil. My initial thoughts were, they are the hardest working players in the gym. To which he replied something to the effect of that’s obvious and/or you have to lift at the D1 level/MLL level otherwise you’re cut. I forget. I wasn’t paying attention.
His answer was their shooting. He began by talking about if you are a great shooter you are going to be on the field. He referenced Travis Reed, not a great body, not fast by any means, but a lights out shooter. He plays D1 lacrosse.
My friend went on to say he thought Stephen Peyser would have been better than Rabil if Peyser could shoot like Rabil. Strong words.
That’s the history back up story that informs this question, what makes Paul Rabil, Paul Rabil? Is it his ability to finish or is it his Hulk like body?
Subquestion, do you believe that if Peyser had an improved shot, if you believe he’s an average shooter to begin with, he would be were Rabil is right now, in terms of being the face of the league, Under Armour, Maverik etc?
Hey, you don’t win games if you can’t score, some people are just better at it than others.
