Are shooting string necklaces acceptable or preposterous?

We posed this question to our FB page and promised a prize package to the most convincing argument.

What’s the history back story of the question?

We once heard that this man wore a shooting string necklace.

Your nickname would have to be Trav Lax to make a shooting string necklace look great.

Here are a couple of the better responses:

Douglas Timms writes: Naturally…This is quite a simple answer. The answer is actually conditional…IF you happen to be an east- coast laxer, training rigorously and aiming to be apart of the D1, or D3 lax world a shooting string bracelet is the only way to we…ar perfectly functional shooting string, anything else is preposterous. However, if you happen to be a west coast bro, and love flow, surfing, and Conbrochill. Then it is acceptable to wear a shooting string necklace. West Coast Bros tend to do things differently and follow their champion Connor Martin (Con Bro Chill, Flowseiden) and his fellow MCLA Chapman laxers.

Kyler Bishop writes: acceptable as long as ur at a game or tourney and double style points if it matches ur jersey and is ur team color…. also good for keeping the hair out of ur eyes during games and gives u a shooting string flow out the back of ur helmet…… i have done this before

Andy Aumiller writes: Not ok first off if you use a used shooter it will most likely be too short and will be rather uncomfortable. Next if you use an old one you are now touching a string that has touched countless numbers of lacrosse balls that have touched countless numbers of other sticks and the ground, so you don’t know what kind of crazy stuff is on that thing. If it is a new one then it is a waste of string that you can use on a new head. Also necklaces in general are just a bad idea giving ninjas a very easy method of doing away with you.

But the winner is Kyle Martin who wrote: no. waste of a shooting string. the average joe that isnt a lacrosse player wont know it has anything to do with lax, some who even play lax may not know either. an average canuck will prob think it is a hockey skate lace. it could leave an unsightly tan line. it just makes it that much easier for chuck norris to kill you.

No one wants to be killed by the bearded wonder that is Chuck Norris.

Kyle Martin, who is unfortunately a Red Wings fan, will be receiving a 2011 Warrior Kryptolyte Criss Cross shaft, 412 stickers, and a fresh stringing kit which he will likely no use to decorate his neck with.
