Ole Miss Team Store

The Running Rebels or Running Bears or whatever they are opt for Harrow. Take a look inside the team store.

They’ll always be the Rebels in my heart.

Handsome products. Would Nike have looked better? Sure. But these products still look sharp. More here, sadly nothing in the Ole Miss grey. Love those football pants. We tried to get the Rebels/Bears/Southerns on the schedule in 2012. We’ll try harder in 2013. Seems like their fall is off to a good start:

This past weekend the Rebels played in the Laxtoberfest tournament benefitting breast cancer research and awareness at Hendrix College in Conway, Arkansas. The tournament consisted of two D3 teams, Rhodes College and Hendrix College, as well as another club team, Harding University. The Rebels went 2-1 at this event. Here is a recap of the tournament:

Ole Miss 8 Rhodes 4

Ole Miss 11 Harding 2

Ole Miss 1 Hendrix 4

I wish they would have said another MCLA team instead. Visit the Ole Miss website.

Lebron and Friends

LeBron James has often had the image of the “Next Michael Jordan” (although I’m sure he’d prefer the “First LeBron James”) since he first came into the public eye as a high school student, and this latest news isn’t likely to end those comparisons. It appears that the University of Kentucky, University of Miami and Ohio State University basketball programs have agreed to wear LeBron James-branded Nike gear (tOSU has had LeBron-ish logos on their uniforms already), an arrangement similar to Jordan Brand-outfitted schools like North Carolina, Marquette, Cal and Georgetown. No official word on the partnerships yet from any of the schools involved or Nike, but expect to see LeBron logos and shoes on courts in the ACC, Big 10 and SEC next season. (Via Nike Blog)

Take a look at the first shoe for Kentucky here.

We’ve already experienced signature equipment with Michael Powell and Kyle Harrison. How close is the lacrosse world to producing signature cleats? Can we expect Warrior Rabils in 2013? What about Rabil inspired designs for Warrior/Brine college teams in the future? If Lebron can do it…

Lest I forget…

Of course, they borrowed the voice over from a Detroit commercial. So what? Everything else is leaving that city.

Half of Pittsburgh’s fans came after Cindy Crosby came around. I’m sure half of them dont know who Mario Lemieux or Jaromir Jagr are…Let’s Go Flyers!

Sorry but nobody likes the penguins except for band wagon fans that jumped on board after Crosby fell into your lap. Detroit is a city for those who put their heads down, work hard, and don’t bitch unlike your pride and joy Crosby who can’t seem to get over ONE concussion.

Aren’t you Philly fans busy jumping off the Ben Franklin bridge?
