Letter to the 412 Lax Bolshevik Party

An address from the Party leader as we near our 1 year anniversary. Warrior USA gloves. Minnesota uniforms. Ohio State slopfest. Let’s Lax.

Dear distinguished members of the 412 Lax Bolshevik Party,

We are on the verge of celebrating our one year anniversary. As such, we feel it is necessary to clarify what we do here, remind you of our mission, and your role in this revolution.

One year ago, we started a humble blog on Wordpress with the sole intention of keeping Pitt alumni abreast of happenings within the team. Posts about Pitt lax eventually turned into posts about other MCLA teams, NCAA teams, equipment, music, movies, lifestyle and the entire world.

If you had told us when we started that an MCLA title winning coach was going to email us and tell us to keep up the good work, we would have said we knew someone one would in an insecure way.

If you had told us when we started that in nine months another lacrosse website was going to approach us to hopes of buying us out, we would have said we knew someone one would in an insecure way.

If you had told us when we started that in eleven months you’d be having video conference calls with a major lacrosse company’s product manager, we would have said we knew someone one would in an insecure way.

The truth is we had no idea we’d be this far along in almost a year.

We thought we were writing for just ourselves. Then, when we were getting heckled by Miami’s bench after we scored a goal that we knew maybe the 412 gospel was spreading.

Quiet, mild mannered reporting has transformed into the bombastic, unstoppable train of opinion and commentary you read today.

With less than five months remaining in our playing career don’t expect “blog posts” instead be prepared for grander odes to the game. We don’t write posts. We write doctrine. Each article takes between several hours spread out of the course of the day to prepare.

In the fall we took the weekends off. This spring, unless God himself is keeping us from a computer (read: if we are on a road trip, since we don’t use a lap top only a Droid), we won’t take a break. It will be full steam ahead like the Titanic without the iceberg minefield.

This weekend we were in Baltimore and had the chance to meet readers from all over the country.

As arrogant and aloof as our writing may be at times, we are ultimately humbled every time someone says, “your website is my first read in the morning.”

It is our  intention to keep our loyal fans and grow our readership but we need your help.

Each article we write is massive. There will always be something for the hardcore enthusiast. There will always be something for the 7th string d middie who only touches the ball once a week and listens to Nickelback. There will always be something for your girlfriend.

Don’t be selfish. Share our website.

Don’t be shy. Comment on the discussion board. Fifteen seconds max to register.

We want to talk about lacrosse with you every minute of every day.

Together, we will move forward and continue to create something great.

Our clothing line will be super limited release. Be ready.

Warrior USA Equipment

Courtesy of Lacrosse Playground:

Later this year Warrior will be releasing a new glove to the general public. But here’s a sneak peek. The Warrior Wrath will be available for you to purchase this fall, but they are releasing images of the glove now, as Team USA will be putting on the gloves this summer at the 2010 World Lacrosse Championships in England.

This team shouldn’t come back from England if they those a game in this equipment.

Joe Walters’ jealously is so thick Ruben Studdard (the actor from Blind Side and Precious) could eat it with a pitch fork.

Gopher Nike Sublimated Uniforms

Smart uniform decisions.

Bold decisions for the shorts. Numbers instead of a logo.

Ohio State Nike Backbreaker Uniforms and New Locker Room

Curious as to why Nike didn’t make custom Backbreaker uniforms available to the public.

Not a bad locker room set up at all.

But the real story is, how sloppy do the Buckeyes dress?

Everyone in work boots?

Is this real life?

But is this real life?

We’ll visit Sweden in early winter and late winter, but midwinter is not an option.

thoughts on Minnesota rocking the gopher icon and the M on the jerseys but going with the outline of the state on their helmets you had mockups of a while back. Im not digging the inconsistency but the jerseys in isolation are ridiculous

Warrior golves are unreal... glad to see they finally came out with something worthy to protect my digits. Gopher jersey's, stupid cool.

Solid manifesto. Looking forward to more doctrine.

love the minnesota jerseys. not really lovin the team america equipment, minus the gloves, it looks like a starter set for middle school lax.
  • Love the Minnesota uniforms. Makes me proud to be born a Gopher

You know another great writer of their ideals? Karl Marx.
  • Are you blogging about your ideals?

Can't stand those Backbreakers...it's probably a good thing they aren't widely available.

    (Love a good Sunday-morn 412 post)
