Effortless faceoff wins against stout competition.

Great crowds for Salisbury home games.

If they wear the 2000 MLL style uniforms again this spring we’ll lose our minds much like we did after the low to high shot at 2:47.

Pitt is taking a team to War on the Shore in New Jersey.

How many MCLA teams get a chance to play together over the summer?

We don’t have a locker room. Its club sports like that. If we did this picture would have been hung up as decoration. Instead we’ll print it out, fold it up, and tuck it in our gloves.

Joe Thornton’s face bothers me.

Look how bland it is. Is that a smile or grimace?

Take a stand against roster bio pics. Get off the fence Thornton.

Can’t wait until the playoffs.

It kills me that Utah isn't consistently in the Top 20 anymore. That program was on the rise for a good five years, and now it's like they don't exist.

  • http://412.LaxAllStars.com 412 Lax

It does seem like the occasional win over CSU should have sparked them to bigger things unfortunately the coaching changes have likely caught up with them. Last year at 6-8, they finished 30th by Laxpower.

  • SLClax

respectable is not the word id use to describe that top 20 list. i mean come on UCSB at 11 that is ridiculous after graduating everyone from a team that probably shouldnt have been top 20 at the end of last season. Cal poly dropping out of the top 10 despite graduating virtually noone. And Wisconsin????? thats just silly

  • http://412.LaxAllStars.com 412 Lax

Certainly some surprises on the list, an unproven in MCLA play Wisconsin team being one such miscalculation.Cal Poly could very well be a top 5 team.Arizona State was gifted into the top 5. You can't take a year off in club lacrosse and come back like you're Duke.

Wisconsin in the top 25 is a joke. They're not even top 3 in their own conference. What magazine was this?

“Lacrosse Magazine’s Preseason Top 20″Some fall ball notes from Wisconsin. They had three squads for fall ball as is their plan for the spring to have one MCLA team (GRLC) and two teams competing in the Great Lakes Lacrosse League. No idea how the teams are spilt but here are some scores against MCLA teamsRed team: beat Marquette and Purdue, lost to IndianaWhite team: beat Indiana, lost to Western Michigan, Illinois and PurdueFall ball scores don't mean anything. Don't believe me? These results were clearly looked over when LM voted on their preseason top 20. Top 20 MCLA teams don't lose to Indiana, Purdue, Illinois or Western Michigan even if they are in a fall ball spilt squad. My contention is that a team coming from the NCLL or where ever in God's name they came from should not be in anyone's top 20 or top 25 poll for the MCLA.Having said that it will be interesting to follow Wisconsin over the next few years. The program is 35 years old. Do you think their alumni don't want the program to make waves and soon? The fact that it is a phenemonal public school doesn't hurt either.

  • SLClax

ASU is loaded and hungry, didnt graduate anyone. they will absolutely compete for a national championship

Here's some scores for you:Wisconsin over St.Thomas, Western Michigan, Illinois State, Marquette, etc.The scores you see are not of the A team or, MCLA team if you will.I think they have a better chance to be successful in the GRLC then most speculate. I saw Lindenwood lose to a mediocre Dayton, the same Dayton team that got absolutely owned by St.Thomas, the same St.Thomas team Wisconsin took down in a tournament championship earlier this fall.I don't think Wisconsin is going to run down and be a top 10 team in year one, although it would be interesting to note they have had a program for nearly 30 years, and have more players in the program then likely any team in the MCLA. Its important to remember they have an extremely national student base. Over half the team isn't from Wisconsin. Players are represented from New York, Maryland, California, Colorado, Texas, Illinois, Utah, etc. That being said, the ranking was surprising to myself as well. It may be a little too early to tell.

Out of sheer curiosity, what appeal does Wisconsin have for a college student, to have such great national representation?

  • SirLaxin22

The University of Wisconsin is one of the top public Universities in the nation, ranking fifth last year. Its one of those “Public Ivies.” Their business department has graduated just as many CEO's as Harvard, tying it for first. The Medical and Law programs are amazing. 16 of their 38 programs rank top 10 nationally.Aside from that, they are nationally ranked in nearly every major sport year in year out including Hockey, Football, and Basketball. You could include that it has consistently been ranked top party schools in the nation, ranked first by playboy for a few years in a row, culminating with bashes like halloween and mifflin. You could find all this with a simple google or wikipedia search.

  • ReliantxRuckus

Your extensive knowledge on the subject is “one stop shopping”, I appreciate it.

They beat BYU at the best of the west…but I know…fall ball right?

They also lost to Utah Valley (D2). Fall Ball results are very misleading.

UCSB may have a tough year this year after graduating lots of key players. However, with that said Coach Waible is legit and he knows what he's doing and is a very good recruiter (look at the class he brought in last year….very impressive).Colorado I don't think will struggle as much as UCSB this year. At goalie they'll be fine as they landed a recruit from Ridgewood, NJ who was first team All State in Brad Macnee. He had an offer from Penn State but chose Colorado because of its Aeronautical Engineering program which is top 3 in the nation. In regards to Salisbury School, they lost about 12 guys who went D1 last year, however they should still be good. My friend plays there and you should see the gear they're getting hooked up with. 3 new versions of Nike uniforms including an all black uni for their games against Hotckiss, custom gloves, elbow pads, socks, and Home and Away helmets. Simply put, they run their program like a college program and in my opinion are constantly one of the most underrated teams in the country. Only lost one game last year and were only 17th in the country.Oh and Ian Gordon is nasty. He actually has some MCLA roots as his bro I remember played at Colorado. Ian will be playing at Loyola next year.

yup…I heard ASU defend that by saying they didn’t play their starters till BYU…? I wasn't there though, all I know is hearsay. I'll put a plug in for Utah Valley, I believe they are grossly under-rated this year. They've looked pretty good, but we will find out in a couple months huh…

That makes sense. But BYU did play their starters and won all their games (LMU, Zona, Poly, Cal) before they played ASU. ASU was resting their starters losing to D2 teams and BYU was winning games. ASU starters are 1 goal better than BYU after an entire day of playing. That is why fall ball is worthless to compare scores.
