Finally Nike

Nike does the unthinkable for this fall.

Take a look at this screen grab. What do you notice?

Somewhere in that muck of maroon and cardinal is crimson. FINALLY.

Because adidas is dead to the men’s lacrosse program here in Bloomington, those crimson long sleeve and short sleeves are looking pretty sharp for next fall. There’s just something about a company offering your actual school color when they haven’t in the past that’s your day going. Unfortunately, that’s all Nike is offering in crimson right now. BUT, you have to start somewhere. You can peruse Nike’s other fall offerings here.

A requisite GIF reaction to Nike’s crimson shirt.

Oh the times they are a changing in Bloomington.

Some coaches’ treats arrived yesterday. Just a small thank you from me to my staff.

Over 55 pounds of Boathouse merchandise is scheduled to arrive today.

Pictures of both to follow. Expect to see the coaches’ clothing first.

Anybody want really grow the game? The Dresden Braves are hiring:

Dresden is halfway between Berlin and Prague. Dresden’s team started in 2003 and is continuing to grow. At this time, we feel we are ready to support a coach. Many German teams are now hiring American, Canadian, or Australian coaches, and the pattern has so far been for the team to find a young coach a job in Dresden (typically teaching English as a second language, which any native English speaker is qualified to do in Germany), to find them an apartment, and for that coach to then lead the team on nights and weekends.

We are looking for an open-minded person to help us grow as a team, help us start a youth team, and who would like to experience European lacrosse. Our new coach does NOT need to speak German, as most of our players are fluent in English. Our new coach may also choose to be a player-coach if they like.

For more information about our program, please contact us directly. For more information on lacrosse in Germany and for independent information on the experiences of Americans coaching and living in Germany, please contact Kyle Hawkins, the president of the German Lacrosse Coaches Board at warriors.coach(at)gmail.com  Appointment: Part-Time

Contact for application and information: Frieder Hamann, Coach Search Committee, Hubertusstraße 47, 01129 Dresden, Germany.  Phone: +4915202801261  E-mail: [email protected]

my guess would be yes. There are MLL, NCAA, MCLA and HS kids using steroids. More probably than any of us are willing to admit.
If kids will do it to help them play mediocre NCAA Div 3 football, they’ll do it for lacrosse.

Testing is tough because it is SO expensive. I wouldn’t be surprised if the MLL and NLL basically didn’t test at all. Or they literally don’t test. Someone must know the answer to that.

At the NCAA level, its not like those guys are getting tested 24-7. Use would be easy to mask for most. I worked my ASS off and never got to the point some kids get to VERY quickly. Maybe there are a lot of natural athletes out there (i’m sure there are many more naturally gifted than I) but my bet is that more kids are juicing than any of us realize. Just a feeling really…

There were three guys on my MCLA team who dropped andro poppers like it was their day job. In a sense I guess it was… when not on the lax field they spent every other waking moment in the gym.
