Chicago to Bloomington to Pittsburgh.

11 hours of driving and close friends of this particular writing staff know that we hate driving.

But we love Christmas.

We love Christmas Vacation.

And most importantly, we have a profound respect for Christmas Miracles. And after a long journey behind the wheel, we were rewarded with not one, but two miracles on this spectacularly brisk Monday evening.

Somewhere in Ohio, we were informed that Crosby had notched an assist to maintain his point streak, which is now at 21 games.

Any hockey rats know the longest streak?

Holy.

By the end of the game, also in Ohio, we realized that The Sweet Russian Prince had factored in on five of the Pittsburgh’s six markers.

But the Christmas miracles weren’t ready to end just yet. There was a package from LAS headquarters waiting for me in the 412 Bat Cave.

Not sure why we got #4 either. It’s a mystery on par with the visual quality of the smoke monster from Lost and Rihanna’s hair color. (We’ve done stand up three times. We’ve got jokes.)

But for serious, we feel like this is our Olympics number…having said that, we might be furious if someone else got 10.

My first pair of Maverik gloves and even though they didn’t drop a new top of the line glove for 2011, we can understand why so many college teams are switching to this mitt/brand.

Not every experienced a Christmas Miracle tonight.
