Brother Rice’s NA Invitational Uniforms
Detroit’s skyline isn’t that famous. Is it?
The Michigan power unveiled some special treats for this weekend’s North American Lacrosse Invitational. Let’s begin with the uniform.
Super aggressive look for the invitational.
Super. Aggressive. The first day they wore their white uniforms with a black cityscape and black shorts, so from distance it gave the impression that they were wearing really long shorts that had been pulled up to their chest. When you’ve been the best team in Michigan for years you can wear whatever you want. Doesn’t mean those uniforms are good looking and in fact it was difficult to identify the number due to the middle of the numeral being a different color.
How about those helmets?
Closer to the edge or closer to the edge? Even the liner is orange. My goodness.
They had been wearing white Triumphs and I’d venture a guess that everyone thinks the matte black helmets with orange chrome masks are a significant upgrade. Take a gander at their old stuff from earlier this season against Mt. Lebanon.
The journey from Trendville is a long one. White helmets for no reason? No, thank you.
Rice may have topped Mt. Lebanon months ago, but the Devils won 9-7 over Seneca Valley last night in the Pittsburgh semi finals and will advance to play Sewickley in the finals. There was a great crowd on hand last night to watch the game. Good for Pittsburgh lacrosse.
Notes
I believe this the first time since 2001 that Mt. Lebanon and Sewickley have met in the WPSLA or WPIAL title game
90% of Lax co-founder Tommy Kehoe is currently an assistant coach at Sewickley, he might have recently gotten a hair cut
Apparently there were tornado warnings all day yesterday in Bloomington, great
