Best Moments of the Summer Part 1
Just trying to be handsome on Wednesday.
The lacrosse summer is over. Let’s make a list of the top 10 best things that happened. I like lists. I like top 10s. I like top 10 lists.
10. Inception
Of course, Leo is on the list. Of course, of course. I almost had a panic attack when the kids and counselors were talking about it at North Carolina because I hadn’t seen it yet. Had to blurt out, “No talking while Coach is trying not to remember what you just said about the ending.”
9. Travel
Got to visit a couple new places. See some new sites. See some old sites for the first time in a while. Kentucky. North Carolina. Michigan. Connecticut. Maryland. Virginia. Just the Midwest corridor and some Eastern Seaboard. Trying to grow not just as a lacrosse coach but as a person.
8. Kentucky
The bluegrass boys were easily the most in love with rumpus time. Broomball until midnight. Stitches. Kids sneaking into unlocked rooms and turning the ac unit off. Popsicle challenges. A chaffing epidemic. An occasionally stressful, always entertaining first foray into the camp world.
Also the most charismatic and most talented 7th grader we saw all summer.
7. Maverik Showtime All Star Game
I haven’t watched a game in person with that much talent on the field since I attended the Hopkins/Loyola game in 2008. Rabil’s last regular season game of his career.
6. Coach Metzbower
The fact that I got to spend 4 days working along side the former Princeton assistant is still mind bottling to me. You know when all your thoughts get trapped in your head like a bottle.
15 kids, myself, two D3 college players and Coach Metzbower. I sprinted back to the room after each session to write down everything he said about lacrosse. What an honor. What an opportunity for a young coach.
Top 5 tomorrow.
Holy. I wish this kid was coming to IU.
Not many lefties in the MCLA can go low to high from 14. So cruel.
He’s a rising junior headed to Hopkins. Not sure they believe in offensive creativity or even fun at Hopkins. Hope he hangs in there.
Behind the scenes with Rabil. Very interesting look at pro life.

Really enjoy the new college shirts from STX.
In case you missed it…
He’s back. Now I remember what love is.
